in one month, i will be the president....it's hard to believe that it is fast approaching....i have spent the last few weeks putting a lot of pieces together....agonizing over decisions....and wondering what i got myself into...
my first big decision was about appointed board members....what to do about committee's who had no chair applications, what to do with committee's that had multiple, and who should be appointed....i have made tough decisions before, but these decisions really weighed on me....i spent a lot of my travel time between albany and bingo thinking about it...wondering who was best, what the organization needed, what i needed as the president....i had to tell some people i wasn't reappointing them....i had to ask others if they would consider being on the board....overall, i did what i hope is best....
i have been working on my goals for the year...the biggest being a self-study....getting that off the ground has already been an experience....and i can't wait to see what else it will bring....i'm excited about the chair i appointed and feel the other members of the task force are strong....my other goals are not as big of an under taking....those i will keep to myself until my big speech....
my speech is not written, though i again have spent a lot of albany to binghamton time thinking about it....i am already nervous about speaking in front of everyone....my parents and friends will be there, which is nice of them all....
i will be blogging during my presidency...if you would like to follow it, you can check it out on our website at neacuho.org or http://neacuhoprez1.blogspot.com/....i won't start writing on it until right before the annual next month....
